The Quinault River flows down to the Pacific Ocean and has long been vital for the Quinault Indian Nation(QIN) to catch salmon. This year they have record low numbers of fish due to the salmon habitat declining as the river warms and erodes. The changing climate and the bad forestry practices upstream have led to many challenges for the fishing village of Taholah on the QIN. We will be exploring these challenges, traditions and adaptions deeper in April of 2019 to capturing the spring Blueback Salmon run.
